The Kairos Centre - Grange Park Northampton

Grange Park Church, in partnership with South Northamptonshire Council, plans to turn an empty community building into an innovative new facility for the benefit of the Grange Park community and beyond.

The vision for Grange Park Church is a multi-stream church, reaching out into the community through a range of different channels with one shared mission, to be “Followers of Jesus, Called to be Good News to Grange Park and Beyond”.

The building, which will be called ‘The Kairos Centre’ will provide a central meeting place, improving communication and integration between the ‘streams’ and supporting us in our mission and evangelism.

The Kairos Centre will extend and enhance community life. Church leaders are concerned that new housing areas run the risk of becoming soulless dormitory estates, but in Grange Park the church is working hard to build lively and life-giving community.

The Grange Park community is supporting this project and lots of people have volunteered their help. Several members of the GPC congregation have already donated money.

The PCT health professionals are keen to work with us to further develop our existing good relationship with them and to offer events through the Kairos Centre.

The vision is to offer Grange Park and the surrounding area a high-quality facility with a warm welcome, including a coffee shop and affordable conferencing/meeting facilities. Building on its already strong relationship with Grange Park’s health professionals, Grange Park Church is aiming to use the facility to offer wellbeing and lifestyle events, such as advice on debt management, social events for adults, as well as children’s and youth activities.

The building will also provide a centre of operations for the thriving young church, enabling it to support and improve on its active community work, children’s work and youth work. It will offer a gateway to the church where everyone will feel welcome.

The Kairos Centre first hit the headlines when Charlie Nobbs our local vicar performed a Bungee Jump in the car park of the Grange Park Inn.
